The ECCAFV Call for Award Nominations

The Erie County Coalition Against Family Violence is accepting nominations for the following awards:

The William B. Hoyt Award
This distinguished award is given to individuals who have made significant contributions in the areas of child abuse, partner abuse, elder abuse, and outstanding efforts in the field of family violence. All nominees must be professionals either currently employed, or have made an impact in Erie County. Nominees may also be volunteers or survivors who have experienced violence and have made a difference in their pursuit of justice.

The Karen Colquhoun Exemplary Service Award
This prestigious award is given to individuals who have gone above and beyond their given jobs to be a force in deterring family violence. All nominees must be professionals either currently employed, or have made an impact in Erie County. Nominees may also be volunteers or survivors who have experienced violence and have made a difference in their pursuit for justice.

The Volunteer Service Award
This award honors individuals who have consistently and selflessly given their own valuable time to further the mission of eradicating family violence. All nominees must have made their contribution in a volunteer capacity.

The Sr. Karen Klimczak SSJ Peace & Justice Award
This unique award is presented to individuals and/or organizations who work toward bringing about peace and justice within our community with a specific focus on dismantling root causes of violence and oppression at the organizational or institutional level. Nominees may be engaged in this work as professionals, volunteers, or survivors of violence and must have made an impact in Erie County.

The Media Award
This award honors media outlets and/or persons (i.e., radio, television, print, internet, etc.)  that have shown excellence and accuracy in reporting family violence in Erie County.

The Erie County Coalition Against Family Violence Awards Committee requires that all nominators write a brief written description (not to exceed 300 words) which speaks to the efforts and impact of the nominee.

All nominations must be received no later than Friday, August 11, 2016.
